Delicious pastry. A bit on the expensive side but absolutely worth it. Tried the chocolate croissant, the ham and cheese croissant, coffee cake and the brownie cookie. All were excellent and the croissants are flaky, buttery and perfect with crunch and a soft fresh interior.
Fantastic Bakery with truly outstanding pastries. A quaint little roadside cafe with exceptional baked goods. The bonoffie morning bun was outrageouly good and I dream about the double chocolate cookie days after. My favourite bakery on the central cost
This is our absolute favorite bakery in SLO County and there are tons of good ones around here! We love everything we've had to date whether it's sweet or savory. Their pastries, chocolate, and other baked items are always balanced with the perfect amount of sweetness and hand made to impress from a visual standpoint as well. We've always had friendly service when we've dropped in. Smaller space that they do a good job of keeping the line moving at. Special shout out for their coffee offerings and pizza Monday's as well. The pizzas we had were superb with a phenomenal crust. Always worth the trip to Los Osos to head here for literally anything they make! Thanks Tim and team.
World class bakery in this small charming coastal community. Only difficult part is choosing from the many items baked daily. Breads, pastries, sandwiches all top notch. Traveled many countries over the years, sampling many bakeries on our adventures and Wayward Bakery continues to be tops on our list Lucky to be a local!
My husband keeps bringing me treats from Wayward and it’s just, sigh, they are so delicious! I don’t need the treats, but they are so good so I do. I highly recommend any of their croissants as their laminated dough skills are on point. I recently had the almond croissant and I’m dreaming about it this morning. Also, love their cinnamon roll which beats any other local place I’ve tried. In the end, treat yourself.
Best bakery on the coast. Everything Tim & his team does is phenomenal! The lox toast is one of the best I have ever had. Also gotta say their espresso is delicious, my cappuccino this morning was 10/10. Grateful for spots as such, as good food between Morro Bay & Osos is limited.

I’m seeing a lot of reviews complaining about price point for pastries, or lack of coffee options so here’s my two cents. This is a bakery first and foremost. They make a lot of incredible ‘basics’ that you’ll find in most bakeries AND a lot of incredible speciality goods. The cost of life is UP, that means so are ingredients, rent, and other goods that are required to run a place like this. Now that’s out of the way. Let’s go to my review—the rare occasion that I get a hot coffee (that isn’t a usual black coffee) was during my visit. The vanilla latte was great, ordinary maybe, but it was GREAT. Exactly as it should be. I picked up three pastries on this visit. Something with blueberries, something with apricot, and a Father’s Day specialty item. Everything was amazing, and the fact that it’s a very open spaced place so you can see the entire staff working. You can see them making the pastries, the entire process if you stay around long enough. Places like this require so much of yourself, you really have to love what you do and I really appreciate that in bakeries. My order was worth the cost. I will absolutely come back again (I still dream of the blueberry pastry).
The hype is real, deserved and well-justified! These are some of the most masterfully executed breads and pastries you will ever find anywhere. Absolutely stunning products! It’s really cool too to see Chef Tim teaching his formidable skills and knowledge to the next generation in the people who work there…And the coffee from Bicycle is fantastic too. My only complaint is that my stomach isn’t big enough to eat them all at once…yet. But really, everything is excellent, and you can’t go wrong with whatever you pick, but friends, the almond croissant will touch your very soul and hug it forevermore. ❤️❤️❤️
The food is good. Pastries are rich and flakey. I like the atmosphere and staff are very knowledgeable. I do wish they had more seating, but this place is great for takeaway. They can run out of food fast so you need to come early before the crowd. A place that I will easily come back to.
